Today, the Westfield shopping centre offers a pedestrianised area, better cycle paths, a modernised underground station and more greenery, where at lunchtime many people meet up for a quick bite to eat.

Some of the cafés are renowned throughout Paris, such as Nelson's or Le Loup, which have terraces and a cosy atmosphere. Alternatively, head to the lively rue Montorgueil for an Italian-style dinner and drink at the café-restaurant César or the Bianco. The pedestrianised rue Montorgueil is a great place to stroll.

To the south of the district, you'll find the Rue de Rivoli and the beautiful Jardin des Tuileries, both very popular with tourists.
