To the question in which district of paris opening a pop-up store, the 2nd arrondissement of Paris springs to mind. Many pop-up stores have been successful thanks to their shops located in the Halles district, including the Pokémon x Célio pop-up store and the Harry Potter pop-up store. It's true that the district is a real meeting point, so it's a very strategic place to launch a physical retail business.

History of the Halles district

The Les Halles district, located on the right bank in the heart of Paris, formerly known as "Le Ventre de Paris", now covers the completely renovated Westfield Forum des Halles shopping centre. Châtelet les Halles is renowned as a meeting point, thanks to its train station and the many stations it serves. So it's a strategic location because it's central and easy to get to. It has always been renowned for its shops and proximity to historic monuments such as the Louvre, Beaubourg and the Pont Neuf.

Neighbourhood life

The Halles district is a dynamic and popular area both day and night. There is a wide choice of shops, largely dominated by food and ready-to-wear. Most brands have their own shops, so it's important to assess the competition. Recently, the Paris City Council wanted to redesign the Les Halles district. Today, the Westfield shopping centre offers a pedestrianised area, better cycle paths, a modernised underground station and more greenery, where at lunchtime many people meet up for a quick bite to eat.

Shops and pop-up stores in Les Halles

In the Forum des Halles and its parallel streets, you'll find all the big names like Sephora, Zara, Bocage, FNAC, Monoprix...  There are plenty of cultural activities in the area, including theatres and exhibitions. Opposite the Seine, you'll find the Théâtre de la Ville, where a variety of contemporary dance and world music shows are presented.

There are many food concepts from around the world, including Asian, Oriental, Italian, French and even junk food. It goes without saying that in Châtelet you have the choice, and this is also reflected in the cafés and their terraces. Some of the cafés are renowned throughout Paris, such as Nelson's or Le Loup, which have terraces and a cosy atmosphere. Alternatively, head to the lively rue Montorgueil for an Italian-style dinner and drink at the café-restaurant César or the Bianco. The pedestrianised rue Montorgueil is a great place to stroll.

To the south of the district, you'll find the Rue de Rivoli and the beautiful Jardin des Tuileries, both very popular with tourists.
