Courrèges is opening the doors of its second Parisian address in our pop-up store at 119 rue Vieille du Temple. While this is one of the most beautiful locations in the capital, right in the heart of the Marais, this ephemeral boutique also marks a strong desire on the part of the brand to rediscover its original appeal and visibility. With a monochrome atmosphere, an exceptional play on mirrors, rounded shapes and fitting rooms with a hushed ambience, this project follows the brand's historic codes, in the image of its iconic flagship on rue François Iᵉʳ.
Founded in 1961 by André and Coqueline Courrèges, the eponymous brand is known for its singular style. In 1965, the brand revolutionised fashion with its futuristic creations such as mini-skirts and vinyl jackets, which were snapped up by icons such as Brigitte Bardot. A competitor to Dior and Chanel in the 1970s, Courrèges went into decline in the 1990s before being revitalised in 2011 by Sébastien Meyer and Arnault Vaillant. Their approach combines modernity and respect for heritage, offering a valuable lesson in innovation and preservation in retail. A pop-up store was opened in the Marais district of Paris to intensify the brand's retail presence, in addition to its iconic flagship on rue François Ier.
